Doctor Who story chronology

Over the Christmas break I have been indulging my passion for all things Doctor Who. In particular, I have been reading some Doctor Who novels (largely featuring the tenth Doctor), and listening to some Big Finish audio plays (largely featuring the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth Doctors.) Working out how they fit together has been a bit of a headache, but now I have found a Wikipedia page which attempts to weave all known Doctor Who stories into something approximating a consistent sequence.

Pragmatic Books at 25% off

This post has an even shorter shelf-life than my others. The Pragmatic Programmers (along with most of the USA, it seems) are offering special discounts for “black friday”. In this case it is 25% off their book prices. They have some pretty impressive books in their line-up, so now may just be the time to stock up.

LibraryThing | Catalog your books online

This last weekend I spent several happy hours entering details of my book collection into Library Thing after being prompted by reading about it on JHGHendriks blog. What got me doing this right now is that I finally got to try out my new CueCat barcode scanner, which makes the whole process a lot smoother.

So far I have entered about 600 books, and will continue with the rest (probably at least another 1000 or so) over the next few weeks. In the meanwhile, you can take a look at my library as it grows.

Balancing Agility and Discipline

Looks like an interesting book to add to my reading queue “Balancing Agility and Discipline” by Barry Boehm and Richard Turner
