Over the Christmas break I have been indulging my passion for all things Doctor Who. In particular, I have been reading some Doctor Who novels (largely featuring the tenth Doctor), and listening to some Big Finish audio plays (largely featuring the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth Doctors.) Working out how they fit together has been a bit of a headache, but now I have found a Wikipedia page which attempts to weave all known Doctor Who stories into something approximating a consistent sequence.

Even though i have only ever dipped my toes into the water of podcasting, I still have a strong urge to do it. From time to time I take another spin around the audio technology web sites and stores, and always keep an eye out for how other folks do it. Here’s the setup used by Joel Spolsky for the popular Stack Overflow podcast he makes with Jeff Atwood.

I still have plans to try and record some audio interviews to present as podcasts on this blog. back in 2006 when O’Reilly released “Podcasting Hacks” they also posted a few articles on the subject to support the book.

Oddly enough, some colleagues have been working with integrating progressive sound into web pages. This looks like a really neat JavaScript/CSS API for such stuff.
