Undervolting a laptop

I’ve got a reasonably old 3GHz Pentium 4 laptop which I don’t use much – mainly because it has a tendency to overheat, even when I run it at a slow clock speed. After a mention on the stackoverflow podcast, I thought I would investigate the possibilities of “undervolting” as a technique for reducing the power used and heat generated. Here’s a few links I found on the topic:

If/when I find more useful ones, I’ll add them later.
